I gave my friend Tara a painting I made for her recently. I love the colors in this one, so bright and whimsical. I sketched and cut out the "best friends" with my silhouette cameo, then i used some distress ink to color it and used a metallic purple sharpie to give it that pop. The flowers are all done with Dylusions Ink Sprays and some Distress paints. The flourish is from Tim Holtz's grunge paper set. The butterfly is from Heidi Swapp, it has a resist on it already and is very pretty. The picture frame is just a wood laser cut from Michaels. I also used a Damask stencil with Light Molding Paste from Golden. I love Golden products, they are fantastic. I have a couple more paintings I have done for other people, but they haven't seen them yet so I can't risk posting yet. Soon though.
I love doing paintings for other people. So much so that I really have no ideas for things I would paint for myself, lol. I suppose it's that way because I draw inspiration from others. I have so many projects on the go and love being immersed in my craft room. I am still trying to prepare for the Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo. Although it is proving trying, lol. Check it out, I am on the vendors list!!!!! Here is the link:
Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo Vendor List I want to not only have pieces for the expo directly related to that sub culture but also pieces like the one I am posting today. I love doing canvases like this and actually never really know how they will turn out until they are done. I also have to start designing my logo and banner. Tara did give me some good ideas to run with so that was very helpful.
My friend Peter has been instrumental in helping me with any questions I have had regarding being a vendor and I wanted to thank him. It means a lot to have the support. AND guess what....we are going to be booth buddies at the Expo!!!! I am sooo excited. He makes the coolest stuff, check it out here:

My Indiegogo campaign is in effect until April 17, 2014, hopefully it will take off soon. I wasn't sure how it would be taken so I hadn't posted it to facebook or anything but what the hell. I will be putting it everywhere I can. I don't want to wait until August to realize I couldn't make enough pieces because of funds. With that said, with no income coming in until the Expo in September it's not easy. Even if everyone that sees this blog just posts my campaign somewhere else, being that facebook or twitter or on their blog that would mean that more people than I could imagine would at least see it. That's all I want. I need your help. Here is the link to my campaign:
